Cornerstone Bible Study - 2/29 "He who humbles himself will be exalted"

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

Here is the information for this week's Bible study.

We are justified and saved by grace alone from God through the merits of Jesus, not from our own "good" deeds. Such is the theme of this week's gospel passage.

"Lord, how easy it is for us to be like the pharisee in this story, reminding you how hard we have worked to please you and expecting you to reward us for our labors. Give us a new and humble heart to be like the children, where all we ask for and desire is to be near to you and receive your blessing despite our unworthiness".

Do not forget your Lenten prayer exercise and bring the harvest of your prayer or your experience of the presence of God for sharing after Bible study.

God Bless,
Maria

Cornerstone Bible Study - 2/22 "The kingdom of God is not coming with signs to be observed"

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

Here is the information for this week's Bible study.

In this week's gospel, the Pharisees were asking the question to Jesus of when the kingdom of God was coming, when signs were all around them that the kingdom of God was already in their midst. In own very own day and age, were there times that we also missed the very obvious movement of God in our midst? Let us not cease to ask God to reveal his love and the power of the Gospel to us and pray for a deepening awareness of His presence in our lives, our Church and our world.

Do not forget your Lenten prayer exercise and bring the harvest of your prayer or your experience of the presence of God for sharing after Bible study.

God Bless,

Maria

Cornerstone Bible Study - 2/8 "Your faith has made you well!"

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

Here is the information for this week's Bible study.

Happy Ash Wednesday to all! and Happy Chinese New Year too. Lent is upon us once again. The beginning of Luke chapter 17 talks about faith in God and faith in Jesus Christ. Lent is a time to deepen our friendship and relationship with Christ to prepare to receive in fullness what he promises through his passion and resurrection. It is through this deepening experience that our faith grows. Do not forget your Lenten prayer exercise and bring the harvest of your prayer or your experience of the presenc of God for sharing after Bible study.

God Bless,
Maria
